De notre côté, nous étions enchantés de votre présence. Dès votre arrivée, dès notre premier contact, franc, direct, amical, nous avons su que nous passerions une excellente semaine avec vous. Il n'y a jamais eu la moindre ambiguïté, ni la moindre divergence. Au contraire j'ai ressenti chez vous les mêmes valeurs que celles que nous souhaitons insuffler à notre Festival.
Vos danses ont ébloui et enchanté les spectateurs ; beaucoup sont venus nous le dire, davantage que pour les autres groupes. Le chant dans l'église d'Arvieu a aussi marqué durablement mon esprit, il était si beau.
Dès votre premier spectacle, j'ai su que ce serait votre groupe qui terminerait les spectacles suivants ; et vous y avez eu droit chaque soir... Je dois vous présenter des excuses pour avoir fait veiller vos enfants aussi tard, surtout le dimanche soir, mais c'est vous qui pouviez donner le meilleur final à un Festival qui fut splendide.
Votre comportement tout au long de la semaine a été admirable. Pourtant ce n'est pas facile d'être soumis à un rythme aussi intensif. Votre adaptation au milieu de groupes aussi différents été remarquable.
Je vais dire à mes amis organisateurs d'autres festivals combien nous avons apprécié votre groupe et bien sûr, je reste disponible à tout moment pour vous fournir des renseignements ou vous faciliter les contacts. ROUERGUE: « STANDING OVATION POUR LES USA ». —
Enthousiasme ! C’est peut-être le mot qui s’accorde le mieux aux
jeunes danseurs venus de l’Idaho, pour leur prestation effectuée
mercredi soir devant un nombreux public à la salle des fêtes de
Belmont. Enthousiasme communicatif car les spectateurs se sont
laissé sprendre au rythme endiablé du « clogging », danses avec
claquettes, spécialité de ce groupe. Les 28 jeunes (et très jeunes)
danseurs et danseuses, âgés de 9 à 19 ans, ont offert un spectacle
varié, sans temps morts, durant près de deux heures, ce qui exige une
condition physique parfaite. Ce fut un spectacle sensiblement différent
de ceux qu’offre habituellement le festival. La première partie a
été consacrée à diverses danses ou chants traditionnels de certaines
régions des USA, avec un clin d’oeil aux danses indiennes et à Hawaii.
La deuxième partie, plus contemporaine, a promené le spectateur dans
la variété américaine : comédies musicales, rock, boogie, charleston,
hip-hop… aux rythmes entraînants sinon endiablés. On a pu également
apprécier le talent d’une jeune violoniste. Plus tôt, dans l’après-midi,
l’American Footworks Dance Company » s’est produite à la maison de
retraite et à l’Abseah, avant le vin d’honneur offert par la municipalité.
Organisé par l’AFR avec la participation de familles hôtesses (c’est
une particularité de Belmont d’offrir un mini-séjour dans une famille),
le 57e festival du Rouergue est à marquer d’une pierre blanche à
Belmont.

Enthusiasm! It is perhaps the word that best describes the
young dancers from Idaho, regarding their

The quality of the show, the rhythm of the musicians, and the happy lige of your young people is a mix for success. Among the volunteers, it is quite the same.
