Applications for our team will be accepted from until February 8, 2026. Before applying, please carefully read the following information:
1. REPERTOIRE: Our repertoire includes various kinds of American dance forms: hoedowns, running sets, cowboy stomps, a square dance, country line and swing, a waltz, Charleston, Lindy swing. About 30% of our repertoire includes clogging. Any dance experience is helpful, but clogging ability (especially for girls) is highly recommended, though not always essential2. REHEARSALS: We start in mid-April after the BYUI semester break, and have rehearsals through the summer until we go on tour. Rehearsals will be on _______ nights from 6-8:30 and some Saturdays at Studio One, 121 E Main Street in Rexburg (behind Port of Subs). We require attendance at every rehearsal because we move through a lot of repertoire VERY quickly. It is a definite time commitment
3. TUITION: monthly tuition is $90, due on the first day of the month, April through July. A non-refundable tour deposit of $400 will be due by the first rehearsal to secure your place on the team, so start saving now if interested!
4. 2026 TOUR INFO: tour dates are JULY 24-AUGUST 18 (give or take a day). We usually perform between 15-90 minutes per day and also participate in workshops, parades, social nights, and sightseeing excursions.
Relatives and friends are welcome to attend the festivals but they are responsible for their own food, lodging and transportation. They cannot access the living/dining area for the dancers.
5. TOUR COST is usually around $3,300 and includes costume rentals, most meals, all accommodations, all transportation, and 2 tour T-shirts and a jacket
6. OTHER COSTS: Team members provide their own cowboy boots and changing garments
For Girls: 2-3 white, black or nude tank leotards, and 2-3 pair black spanks 3-5" inseam. Girls also have a $115 hairpiece/tights/character shoes fee.
For Boys: 3-4 pair biker shorts, 3-4 pair black crew socks, 2-3 pair plain black pants, 1 plain white long sleeve button up shirt, black lace up shoes, and 3-4 plain white v-neck tees
7. TOUR LIFE: Festival dance tours are an exciting, magical, unique way to experience the world, and 100% worth it, but be aware that tour life is not luxurious. The festivals house and feed us during the festival week, and we usually live in dorms near the other international teams. Which is awesome because we get to eat, dance and hang out with people from around the world! Guides from the host country accompany us 24/7 (we love them!) and our dancers create friendships and build cultural bridges and see incredible things and experience miracles that will bless their lives for years! Festival tours are absolutely life-changing and they are an amazing opportunity to put good in the world
A note on how we pick the team: Since the festivals house and feed us, the team size is limited to 20 dancers and 5 musicians. The team travels together for three to four weeks each summer so kindness, patience, attitude, and responsibility/maturity are as important to us as talent. Each year we work (and pray) hard to create the best team for that year's needs.
To officially apply for the team, please fill out this google form before Feb. 9th. We will pick the team within a week or two of that date.
